mikfanarts is a one-person studio for original painting and original music — slow work, made in long sittings.
Oil on linen, gesso grounds, gold leaf when the surface earns it. Pieces are built up over months. Subjects come from sound, sleep and the coast outside the studio window.
Compositions for piano, modular synth and cassette. Everything is tracked direct to tape, in one room, in one take. Records arrive in seasons.
Some pieces grow into larger universes — characters, soundtracks and printed zines. Neon Coast '86 is the first of these.
